An International 1st Response Trip
**Project Update 09/19/26**
A small team has been on the ground for the past 2 weeks scouting the affected areas and planning for potential projects. A few days ago they connected with the Mayor of Belkotgadhi, a municipality in the Nuwakot District of Bagmati Province, Nepal and arrangements have now been made to start a project in this area.
The flooding left behind thousands of houses either covered in layers of mud or completely destroyed. Our current project goal is to coordinate with community leaders to identify homes most in need, determine safe access routes, and work with the locals whenever possible to dig out the buried houses. This project will include the use of excavators and other equipment needed to dig out and remove the layers of mud left behind by the flooding. It will also include clearing mud and debris from inside the homes with the goal of helping as many families and individuals as we can find some measure of stability and take the next step towards recovery and rebuilding.
The current plan is an 8 week project focused on digging out and cleaning as many homes as possible. The number of homes will depend on a variety of factors such as accessibility, how deep they are buried, and equipment availability and manpower.
Our funding goal for Nepal is a total of $40,000. This will fund the project from when our initial team landed in Nepal to the end of the 8 week project. This need includes things like transportation, supplies, and fuel for an excavator and dump truck, and also includes team and travel costs. Would you consider donating to support this project? **Initial Deployment 09/01/26**
On August 26, 2026 massive flash-flooding hit the Nepal-China border sweeping away entire communities and causing widespread damage to roads, bridges, hydropower projects, water systems and telecommunications networks. We are sending a small team in to scout out the situation and check for potential opportunities to provide support and resources to those affected by this disaster.
The Nepal Response is an International 1st Response Trip. If donations received for Nepal exceed the amount needed for this response, they will be added to the International 1st Response Fund and used for future international deployments.
