the NC Rebuilding Fund
Due to the inspirational excess of donations, we are looking to continue working with the same local churches that spearheaded our WARM Project, to identify community members with the most emerging needs and we will be allocating all additional donations into this rebuilding effort.
To understand our vision, it is important to understand the day to day adversity we see these resilient people facing. This past evening we became aware of 18 families that have been bathing in the river since the storm which is currently toxic due to the failed sewage plants in the area, and are in desperate need of heat and water. We immediately opened the distribution center after hours so these families could come after the work day to get the water, supplies and food they needed. Today we will setup a potable water tank for them and keep them supplied going forward. There are pockets of worthy needs identical to this in the rebuilding effort that we see emerging from the massive flooding and household damage present, and we are committed to help facilitate the purchasing of materials needed to service them appropriately.
Our fundraising focus will transition to allocate the funds to source rebuilding materials for the most vulnerable families in our area and we at PCCR will continue working closely with the local churches to identify these needs.
Thank you for your prayers! We see God moving each day, guiding us to those in need and giving us strength to carry on.
God bless!
